A MaxMSP patch for interfacing with the Korg Microkontrol. The utility translates between the convoluted SYSEX communication required to use the Microkontrol in ‘native mode’ and a simple OSC protocol, as well as providing six virtual banks of control on the surface.
The utility can be used natively within Max, or with other software via an OSC server. The download includes:
- The wacKmkHandler max abstraction (as maxpat sourcecode) for intergrating into your own max patches. This includes a basic GUI for selecting your hardware’s MIDI ports, and a sub-patch that describes the complete OSC protocol used by wacKmkHandler
- Example max patch to demonstrate communications to and from an embedded instance of the wacKmkHandler abstraction, demonstrating how to receive input from all control elements and control all LEDs and LCDs
- Example max patch containing an OSC server (for communicating to other software environments)
